BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Kwara State Polytechnic Alumni Association came into being in October 1987.
Mr Babatunde Salami was the first National President of the Association. He was succeeded by Mr. Ademola Odetundun.At the present time, Hon J.B. Ishola heads the National Caretaker Committee as National chairman.
The Association has been synergizing with other Alumni Associations of Polytechnics in order to partner with them to address the peculiar problems which Polytechnics and their graduates currently encounter in their interaction with the society at large. It is, however, conscious of the fact that Polytechnics are engaged in self-innovation.
The Association in strategizing with other Alumni Associations on the platform of the National conference of polytechnic Alumni Association to provide the enabling forum for members to exchange ideas on how polytechnic could be assisted in thinking, interacting, acting, deciding, reasoning, in the present and the future rather than their penchant for thinking and behaving in the past.
The Association has instituted Awards for best graduating students in all the institutes and centres of the polytechnic since 1998. It has plans to continue to review the monetary package of these awards relative to the economic relatives of the country.

DISTINQUISED ALUMNI LECTURE
As part of its plans to extend the frontiers of knowledge, the Association has completed arrangement to be hosting the public quarterly to its distinguished Alumni Lecture. It is a forum where graduates of the polytechnic who were distinquised themselves in their various callings will share and exchange their knowledge and experience with Nigerians. |
