COURSE SYSTEM

In operating a course unit system, no student is required to repeat a whole year in a course level but would only be allow to repeat only the courses) failed.

 

A course is only one syllabus lasting one semester and associated with a single or two examination paper(s). This instructions are by course and student will be required to register for and an approved combination of course as stipulated by the various institutions.

 

Furthermore, course are evaluated in term of credits/ units one unit/credit is normally defined as a series of lectures tutorials of one hour per week lasting a semester of three hour practical class per week, or an equivalent amount of study of any combination of these.

 

The minimum number of credits for each course is normally two and there are levels of course representing the year for National Diploma Higher National Diploma Programme.

 

 

GRADING SYSTEM (COMPUTATION OF GRADE POINT AVERAGE “GPA”)

The following weighting points are used by the polytechnic while computing the Grade Point Average (G.P. A.) of the candidates:

   

 

A         = 4.00

B          = 3.00

C         = 2.50

D         = 2.00

F          = 0.00
