A.G RECTOR ATTENDS CO-HEADS MEETING AND 3RD POLY EXPO.

 

The A.g Rector, Dr Y.A. AbdulKareem was in Bauchi for the Co-heads meeting between 9th and 10th December, 2005.  He was also at the 3rd Poly Expo and 30th Anniversary of Co-heads that took place at Kano State Polytechnic the Expo was Organised by the Co-heads in collaboration with the National  Board For Technical Education.  The Expo took place from 12th to 16th December, 2005.
 

LUCK SHINES ON THE A.G RECTOR:  GLO MOBILE DOUBLE SLAM

 

 

Dr. Yahaya Abdulkareem is no doubt a luck, man amongst millions of Nigerian subscribers of Glo mobile line. He won an Honda City in the recent edition of the second anniversary of Glo mobile double slam that took place on Wednesday 14th December 2005. He was welcome back by staff and students who trooped out at the sight of the car shouting Glo, Glo, Glo slogan. He was full of smiles and thanked everybody for the rousy welcome. In his words “I pray more Polytechnic Staff Win in the double slam”
 

2005/2006 ACADEMIC SESSION COMMENCES.

 

 

The 2005/2006 academic session has commenced. The newly admitted students resumed on  5th December 2005 while the returning students resumed on the 19th December, 2005. The students are welcome back from the long holiday.
 

NIPOGA GAMES BAUCHI 2005

 

The 14th Edition of the NIPOGA games took place between 7th and 17th of December 2005. the Kwara State Polytechnic came 12th out of the 45 Polytechnics that participated.

We had a trophy in table tennis, 2 Gold 2 Silver and 2 Bronze. The 23-student contingent worked very hard to be able to get this far.The Rector and the Deputy were present for the opening and closing ceremony respectively.  The Director of DSS – Mrs. K. Osisanya and the Chief Coach Mr. Olaosebikan led the Kwara State Polytechnic contingents to the competition.  Congratulations.

  

NATIONAL NEWS

 

THE GRAND MUFTI OF ILORIN IS DEAD

        

 

The Founder of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria and Grand Mufti of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Mohammed Kamaldeen Al-Adabiy is dead.  He died in the early hours of Sunday 18th December, 2005.

Among the early callers were, Governor Bukola Saraki, Arch. Halimat Alao, Minister of State for Education and Prof. Shuaib O. AbdulRaheem, Chairman, Governing Council, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.

Sheikh Kamaldeen, a great Islamic scholar spent his life propagating Islam in Nigeria and beyond.  He has contributed immensely to the development of peace in Ilorin and the entire state.

The Polytechnic Community joins millions of Muslims world wide in praying for the late Sheikh that the Almighty Allah grant him Aljana Fridaus.  (Amin).
 

WEDDING
ATUNDE AND SHOWA FAMILY

 

The wedding ceremony of Miss Lateefat Abolore Atunde of the Rectorte Department and Mr. AbdulGaniyu Ajibola took place on the 10th of December, 2005 in Ajuwon, Ogun State.

The entire Polytechnic Community wish the newly married couples a blissful married life.  (Amen).

ADEWALE AND AKANBI FAMILY

 

The weddng and Nikkah ceremony of Miss Bilikis and Mr. Ayobami took place in Ilorin on 11th and 12th December 2005 in Dada, Okelele Area of Ilorin.  Miss Bilikis is the younger sister to Mr. AbdulGaniyu Adewale. of  Information Unit of Registry Department.  Congratulations.  Mr. & Mrs. Mudashiru Akanbi
 

DEATH
MR ANIYIKAYE

 

 With heavy hearts and total Submission to the will of the   Almighty God, we announce the death of Mr. Aniyikaye the husband of Mrs Victoria M. Aniyikaye, of Parks and Garden Unit, which occurred on 30th November, 2005.  The wake keeping ceremony took place on 8th December, 2005 while the burial followed on the 9th December, 2005.

We pray that Almighty grant him eternal rest in the bosom of Jesus Christ (Amen)
