Polytechnic Laws
The polytechnic came in to existence following the
promulgation of Kwara state Edict No 4 of 1972 (now
overtaken by Edict No 21of 1984, Edict No 13 of 1987
and again by Edict No 7 of 1994)as a body corporate
empowered by statutes to carry out certain vital
functions.
Apart from the Edict, the polytechnic also has the
booklet titled “Regulations Governing conditions of
service for both senior and junior staff and scheme
of service for the Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin ”
regulating the appointment, conformation, promotion,
discipline, retirement of staff et cetera. These two
documents serve as “LAWS” guiding the day to day
management and operation of the polytechnic as far
as staff matters are concerned.
With regard to the students, the student Hand book
contains the necessary rules and regulations
relating to their welfare, academic activities and
expected conduct while on the campus and the
appropriate penalties for flouting the rules and
regulation. |
