Polytechnic Governance

The governance of the Polytechnic is carried out by the Governing Council under the Chairmanship of Professor Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem.

The Chairman is usually appointed by the Governor of the State. The Ex-official members are : The Rector , Deputy Rector, Permanent Secretary, state Ministry of Education or his representative , a Senior Legal Officer from the Ministry of Justice , a representative of the Alumni Association , a Chief Executive of a reputable Industry, the State Chief Agricultural Officer, five members to be appointed by the Head of the Polytechnic, one person elected by the Academic Board from amongst its member and one person elected by the Polytechnic Assembly from amongst its members..

Among others, the Governing Council is responsible for the general management of the affairs of the polytechnic and the finances of the polytechnic and shall also have power to do anything which in its opinion is calculated to facilitate the carrying out of the purpose of the polytechnic and promote its best interest.
